We haven’t been in a good place in our lives for the past few years. We were being disobedient to God on more than one level and I can give you excuses and reasons as to why that was happening, but ultimately, it was still disobedience. So we started trying to change things. And it started with remembering who we are in Christ and repenting of the things we needed to. We had left our identity behind and we had been hiding the talents God gave us.
We are currently attending an Acts 29 church plant… Again, that just means that they focus on the Gospel. We haven’t been there long, but it’s been such a blessing. One of the things I’ve been praying for is that Frankie would be able to find someone who could help him move forward in planting a church, someone to mentor him. And I think we’ve found that. We didn’t ask for it, although we probably would have, but they offered… almost immediately, after talking with Frankie for a few minutes and understanding where we’ve come from and what we are hoping to do. And that is so awesome. It was an affirmation that we are where we need to be.
We want to be part of what God is doing, what he is doing here in Spartanburg, what he is doing in the lives of our friends, what he is doing in our world. I’m excited about what God is doing and I am more excited that we are taking steps to be a part of that. I’m looking forward to the next installment of “My Church Experience” that will be subtitled “Church Plant.”
