So, I heard something the other day that made me sad. I heard someone say that their husband didn’t want them working at their job because there was nothing but a bunch of non-Christians working there. And what’s worse is that they are supposed to be starting a ministry of some sort together. How sad is that? They truly missed it.
As Christians, we get so caught up in doing the right thing, saying the right thing, hanging around the right people that we forget… Jesus didn’t always do the “right thing.” Jesus most definitely didn’t say the “right thing” (by the religious folks’ standards)… and Jesus absolutely didn’t hang around the “right people.” I, myself, have been guilty of closing my world to those around me and being so caught up in the church-world that I forgot… it’s not about me. It’s all about Jesus and all about his mission to reach out to people and to make disciples.
I can’t help but believe that God put this woman in her situation to show those people who he is… but she missed it. How sad.
