So, I just finished “Yesterday’s Promise,” by Linda Lee Chaikin. I normally don’t enjoy saga type books… you know, the ones where there are more than one book about the same story, but this one was really good and stands on its own. Of course, I’ll probably pick up the next book to see what happens!
This is a story about Rogan Chantry, who faces tough choices as he tries to make his own path. He has to fight against his own family as he tries to follow his dreams. His beloved, Evy Varley, faces her own challenges. She is injured by a mysterious person and has to face the challenge of living with its effects. As they each face their own struggles, it seems that they will be driven apart.
I’m currently reading “Beneath a Southern Sky,” by Deborah Raney. The main character Daria faces a new life. She and her husband were missionaries when her husband is reported dead. She finds out she is carrying his child. She moves back to the United States to begin again and soon marries another man. Two years later, Nate, her first husband is found alive. I haven’t finished this one yet, but it’s definitely an interesting tale!
