Today is Alyx’s birthday. At 3:58pm, she will officially be three years old. I cannot believe how fast she is growing up! I don’t think I can even remember when you could walk and talk…. She is so big now! Not height-wise, of course! I don’t think she’s grown an inch in the last year! But she is talking non-stop and about all kinds of things. She can sing the alphabet (although M-N-O-P are kind of run together) and other songs. I love to hear her sing (or shout at the top of her voice) “Jesus Loves Me.” She kind of sings it to her own tune….
Today, we took her to Chick-fil-a, so she could play a little on the playground. She had so much fun, especially when a little boy came to play, too. He was four, but she was bossing him around like he was younger than her. It was so funny! She told him that he was her best friend… I thought Frankie was going to die laughing. Then, she called him Tigger… to which he replied, “My name is Zachary!” But then he continued to do her bidding… She is so funny.
She has a wild imagination as well. I’ll hear her playing with her little Disney characters and she cracks me up with the things she has them say to each other. She tells us she wants to see Santa, but she doesn’t want to sit in his lap because he’s scary. Today, someone gave her a couple dollars and she asked what was on them. Frankie told her it was a president. To which she replied, “Oh. He’s scary!” Oh, and Jesus is scary, too, evidently. We were watching a Phineas and Ferb episode and the characters ran into a hippie who was playing a flute or something. Alyx said “Is that Jesus?” He did kind of look like Jesus traditionally looks!
Well, she really is getting so big!
Happy Birthday Alyx!
