I have just finished a book, entitled “Clutter-Free Christianity,” by Robert Jeffress. It was really a great, practical book. Jeffress tackles the issue of spiritual transformation in a very real, easy to understand way. He explains that we live in a world where we are always distracted with secondary concerns and “The problem with focusing on secondary concerns is that it causes us to miss what God really desires from us.” And in case you don’t know, Jesus desires our heart!
Jeffress gives six practical ways our hearts should be transformed by Jesus: forgiveness, obedience, trust, contentment, servanthood, and prayerful. These are the areas we should be focusing on. Of these, the most meaningful chapters to me were the chapters on serving and on praying. These are two things that I personally am trying to work on in my life, so the information that was presented in these chapters was a great help in this endeavor.
I encourage you to check out this book! It’s worth it.
