Okay, last night, I got a sneak peek at a video that we will be playing at Hub City Church and I must say that it is HILARIOUS (with capital and bold letters, hilarious!)! So, you really should just come to see that. We are continuing the “No Perfect People Allowed” series and so far, it has been very good. This Sunday, we are also giving our entire offering to a local family in need.
I heard about this family from a family member and it just seemed like something we should get involved in. The husband has a rare form of cancer in his hand. One of the “treatments” is to amputate the limb! So far, he still has his hand. He had surgery two weeks ago and is doing well. He is chair-ridden right now because they grafted bone from his leg to use in his hand. Needless to say, he can’t really work right now and when he was working, he could only do lightweight duty. He was a truck driver. They have applied for disability, but it takes a long time to get it. They have one 9 year old son. The wife is pregnant due Oct 20, but could have the baby any time (if she hasn’t already) because she is having high blood pressure issues. She lost her job two months ago (was laid off), so their only income at this time is unemployment. We are taking up diapers, wipes, gift cards, and this Sunday, we are giving our entire offering to them. So come! And give!
On October 12th, Frankie is speaking. How awesome is that! I knowhe is a little nervous as this will be his first time doing something like this. Please pray for him during his preparation and next Sunday too! And pray for me and Alyx that we will know how to support him during this time. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We really do appreciate everyone who has helped us get to where we are.
