Can it be any hotter? It’s like a sauna outside. We went to Charlotte today and it was hot there, too! Alyx an I are enjoying going to Frankie’s parents and going swimming. We went for the first time this year on Friday and Alyx clung to me the whole time. She was a little afraid of it, but she was beginning to loosen up, splashing around a little. Today, we went and she was much more relaxed even kicking her feet some. By next week she’ll be jumping in by herself!

I mentioned we went to Charlotte today. We went to visit Lance and Andrea Bradley and Mike and Kim Blackwood at the church where they minister: First Baptist Indian Trail. They helped the church start a contemporary service in order to try to reach out to unchurched people in Charlotte. The service was going really well until the power went out! Unfortunately, they cable in the sermon as the pastor is preaching in the traditional service. Evidently, that grid had been experiencing some outages all weekend. Anyway, the service dismissed early, but we got to spend a little more time with the Bradleys and the Blackwoods, so that was good.

We also need some help. Maybe you are friends with Frankie or I, or acquaintances of us or some of our friends. Frankie is now working with Hub City Church as an intern. Unfortunately, this doesn’t include a paycheck. Hub City is a new church and is not self-sustaining yet. We are desperately in need of financial help and prayer support. If you want to know more about how you can help us, please get in touch with us and we’ll be glad to answer any questions. Asking for money is incredibly humiliating on one level, but when someone sees our vision and wants to help support it… that’s awesome!
